Who are your main musical influences? Over the years, my influences have changed so the ones that are influencing me most now are Meshuggah, The Mars Volta, early Mahavishnu Orchestra, Mike Patton (all of his groups), and - always and forever - Frank Zappa
What was the first CD that you bought? Two days after it was released, I bought Nine Inch Nails “The Fragile.” I was around 11 years old.
What is the last CD you bought? It just so happens that I went CD shopping with Jonathan today his CD obsession is starting to rub off on me) and I got Meshuggah’s The True Human Design, and three discs by Coheed & Cambria: The Second Stage Turbine Blade, In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth III, and Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV.
List ten CDs you can’t live without. Mr. Bungle - California Meshuggah – Destroy, Erase, Improve Frank Zappa/The Mothers Of Invention – Absolutely Free Frank Zappa – Jazz From Hell Frank Zappa/The Mothers Of Invention - One Size Fits All The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity Mahavishnu Orchestra – Birds Of Fire Dream Theater – Scenes From A Memory King Crimson – Red The Mars Volta – De-Loused In The Comatorium
What’s the best thing about being in the band? The worst thing? Having fun with my friends and getting to play such genius music is the best thing. The worst thing about being in this band is that in prog, the keyboardist is the one who gets head.
What is your favourite quote? “Music is the best.” - Frank Zappa
Is there anyone who you want to thank or some thoughts you would like to share? NO!!!! Just kidding – I want to thank everyone who supports Trapdoor – especially my family, friends, the Brodskys, and last but not least, The Force.
